How Loke handles your data

This Privacy Policy explains what information Loke collects, how that information is used, when it may be shared, and what choices you have when using the Loke iOS app.

Operator: Ihor Yarovyi App: Loke Effective date: April 8, 2026

1. Information we collect

Account information

If you sign in with Apple, Apple and Firebase Authentication process the credentials needed to authenticate your account. Depending on your Apple account settings and the information Apple makes available to Loke, this can include your Apple user identifier, authentication tokens, display name, and email address.

Music recognition and search data

When you ask Loke to recognize music, Loke uses Apple ShazamKit. After a match is found, Loke sends matched song metadata such as title, artist, artwork URL, and source links to backend services so the app can fetch song links and related results.

If you use signed-in features, recognized songs and related metadata may also be associated with your account so they can appear in your search history.

Subscription and purchase data

If you purchase a subscription, Loke uses Apple StoreKit and may send subscription transaction data, product identifiers, and an app account token to backend services to validate purchases and sync entitlement state.

Analytics and diagnostics

Loke uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand app usage, measure screen views and in-app events, and diagnose crashes or errors. If you are signed in, your app user identifier may be attached to analytics or crash records.

Permissions and device data

  • Microphone access is used to recognize music when you choose to start recognition.
  • Notification permission is used for local result notifications.
  • Basic device and app diagnostics may be collected by Apple and Firebase SDKs.

Information stored locally on your device

Loke stores limited local app state on your device, including onboarding progress, guest usage counters, and related preference flags.

2. How we use information

  • To authenticate your account and keep you signed in.
  • To recognize songs, fetch song links, and show search results.
  • To display and manage your search history where available.
  • To process and validate subscriptions and restore purchases.
  • To monitor app performance, investigate crashes, and improve reliability.
  • To send local notifications you ask the app to display.
  • To protect the app, prevent abuse, and support legitimate operational needs.

3. How information is shared

Loke relies on third-party service providers that process information on our behalf for the operation of the app, including Apple and Google Firebase.

  • Apple provides Sign in with Apple, StoreKit subscriptions, and ShazamKit recognition.
  • Google Firebase provides authentication, analytics, crash reporting, and callable backend functions.
  • When you open external music links, the destination service handles your data under its own terms and privacy policy.

We do not sell personal information. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of legitimate billing, fraud-prevention, security, or business operations.

4. Retention and deletion

We keep information for as long as needed to operate Loke, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and support security, billing, and fraud-prevention processes.

If you delete your account through Loke, we will delete or irreversibly de-identify personal data associated with your account that we do not need to retain for legal, tax, billing, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or similar legitimate business purposes. This includes account-linked search history and other user-specific service records, unless retention is required or permitted by applicable law.

We may retain limited information after account deletion where necessary to comply with law, complete billing and tax records, detect or prevent fraud, protect the service and other users, enforce agreements, resolve disputes, or maintain secure backups until routine deletion cycles overwrite them.

Deleting the app from your device does not delete your account, and deleting your account does not automatically cancel an Apple-managed subscription. If you need help with a deletion request or follow-up confirmation, contact us using the details below.

5. Your choices

  • You can choose not to sign in and continue using guest-mode features where available.
  • You can manage microphone and notification permissions in iOS Settings.
  • You can delete individual search history items inside the app when that feature is available.
  • You can delete your account from the Loke settings screen when that option is available to you.
  • You can contact us to ask about access, correction, deletion, or privacy questions.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date on this page and may provide additional notice in the app when appropriate.
